Heart2Heart is a Supply Nation Certified Indigenous (Palyku) owned business trading under the banner of Panku Pty Ltd (meaning 'united, together' in Nyiyaparli). We believe unity and a willingness to work together for mutual benefit is fundamental to building a prosperous Indigenous and Australian economy.
Commonwealth buyers can purchase directly from Indigenous businesses for contracts of any size and value using the Indigenous business exemption (Exemption 17) in the Commonwealth Procurement Rules.
Indigenous business must still demonstrate value for money, but this can be done through a simpler quote process.
The policy has three parts:
A target number of contracts that need to be awarded to Indigenous businesses.
A mandatory set-aside of contracts for Indigenous businesses to apply in certain situations.
Mandatory minimum contractual requirements for Indigenous employment and/or Indigenous supplier use applying to certain Commonwealth contracts (valued at greater than $7.5m)

So how did it all begin? After being the first point of call for numerous critical and non critical first aid incidents and eventually saving a life at his workplace, Michael became increasingly concerned at the lack of confidence in his co-workers to respond to a medical emergency. It seemed that despite their first aid training, staff were not confident and appeared disengaged during cookie cutter training sessions from trainers who had little or no real life emergency experience.
Similarly, Jadah's experience in Conflict Resolution and Pastoral Care highlighted the lack of awareness around mental health and the need to equip the everyday person to recognise and be confident in responding to the mental health issues they encounter everyday.
So we combined Michael's Medic experience in the Royal Australian Navy with Jadah's Mental Health and management experience and developed a first aid company that was less cookie cutter and more fun, less faceless and more personal with a determination to equip everyone with Confidence When It Counts.
DIRECTOR
TRAINER
Jadah is from the Palyku people in North Western Australia. She is an accredited Mental Health First Aid Instructor with extensive experience in training, facilitation, conflict resolution and pastoral care. Her experience working with indigenous communities, and in local government has contributed to her breadth of understanding when it comes to managing multiple stakeholders, procurement, project management, risk management and OHS needs.
Michael has extensive experience in the Health & Fitness industry and Medical field working in the Royal Australian Navy as a Petty Officer in the Medical Corp for ten years. During his service he also spent four years as an instructor at the Navy's Medical School, training students in basic first aid management as well as advanced emergency care.
Michael has been a business partner of Australian First Aid for the past five years.
